I have gotten Doorbill 3.4 to work just fine with GT1600. This is what
I do. I allow Doorbill to run as a Main Menu option or as a door.
1.) You must have doors overlayed on your GT1600 command line - /V:D
2.) You make a bat file that looks like this. Change the paths to
your liking.
@ECHO OFF
d:
cd\pcb\doorbill
:START
IF EXIST DBRUN1.BAT DEL DBRUN1.BAT
IF EXIST ENDBILL.1 DEL ENDBILL.1
DOORBILL DOORBILL.CFG
IF EXIST ENDBILL.1 GOTO EXIT
IF NOT EXIST DBRUN1.BAT GOTO EXIT
CALL DBRUN1
GOTO START
:EXIT
c:
cd\gt
3.) You adjust DOORBILL.CFG to look like this. Last line is com port.
C:\GT\GTUSER.BBS
Haven of Rest
Bryan
Pike
1
4.) Remember that DOORBILL uses PCboard Access Levels. DOORBILL translates the
GT Access Levels into Pcboard Access levels like this.
-------------------------------------------------------------
9 to 0 = 53 to 62 (ie 9=54, 8=55, 7=56, 6=57,....0=62)
Z to A = 27 to 52
z to a = 1 to 26
-------------------------------------------------------------
So when you put access levels in when using DBUTIL you must put in a
Pcboard Access level. So if the door is only for Access level 0 you
put in 62 for the Access level.
5.) Then you use DBUTIL to create your Doors. You will no longer need
the GTdoorXX.bat files once you begin using DOORBILL. Here are the
screens you will see.

A. The BBS DIR should be where GTUSER.BBS would be found.
B. The LEVEL should be set to the level you want your users to have
access to. Again Pcboard access levels needed. I have the above set
so that someone with a Z Access level on my GT Board will be able to
see all the Catagories available.
C. I have not fooled with the BLT stuff yet. It should work...let me
know what you discover and I will add it here.
D. I run a DS/HST so I have it set that way.
6.) Next from the Main Menu in DBUTIL you begin A)dding your Doors. Here is a
sample of a adding a door.

7.) You will need to make the appropriate conversion file for the type of door
that you are running. I use GTRPCB16 to make a pcboard.sys file as I am
going into DOORBILL. I then point my cfg files to the PCBOARD.SYS file
created when I first entered DOORBILL for any Pcboard doors I am running.
Other conversion files can be made on the bottom line of the Add/Edit Door
Information screen. See the doc files for furthur information on those.
I have requested that the Author allow doorbill to create the pcboard.sys
file that we need for pcboard doors too. He is working on it. Please
inform him of your desire for this option when you register.
8.) I am willing to help you get it set up if you need furthur help. I can be
contacted thru:
GT Netmail at 079/000
RIME at HAVEN
GEnie at B-PIKE
Voice 612-474-0380
BBS 612-474-0724 (300-14400 Baud)
9.) Please register this program so the author Ted Freeman will be able
to continue to help us with GT Support.
